Black Stars midfielder Andre Ayew has admitted the second half of their AFCON game against Guinea was poor.
Ghana were denied were denied an important win after Guinea came from behind to cancel skipper Asamoah Gyan’s goal in the 26th minute to draw 1-1 in Casablanca, Morocco on Saturday.
Despite the result, Ghana who have now drawn two games and won one in Group E have moved top of the log with 5 points after Togo defeated Uganda in Kampala.
Dede Ayew who lasted the entire duration of the game says they were just not at their best but insists they will come clean on Wednesday in the return fixture at the Tamale stadium
“We had a great first half but the second half wasn’t all that good, we were quite disappointed with the result in the second half but we played well and we just have to continue with what we are doing and get a victory here on Wednesday,” he told Joy sports
“We are going to give our best to win the game, we want to make Ghanaians happy again, we have done it before and we want to do it again.
“A lot of things go through players mind and as one of the senior players I just have to say that we apologize and if there is anything that has been done wrong we want Ghanaians to smile and we are going to do our best to let them smile on Wednesday.”
The Black Stars will host the Guineans in the reverse fixture on Wednesday in Tamale.
