The Minister for Defence, Dr Edward Omane Boamah, has announced ongoing efforts to secure improved accommodation for personnel of the Ghana Armed Forces.
In a Facebook post on Tuesday, June 24, the Minister disclosed that his ministry had held fruitful discussions with the National Homeownership Fund (NHF) towards providing new and additional housing for officers and soldiers.
“I’m thrilled to share that we’ve had fruitful discussions with the National Homeownership Fund (NHF) to provide new and additional accommodation for our officers and soldiers in the Ghana Armed Forces!” Dr Boamah wrote.
He emphasised that ensuring the well-being of military personnel remains a key priority of the Ministry of Defence.
According to the Minister, the initiative reflects a broader commitment to enhancing the living conditions of the nation’s tri-service armed forces.
“We’re committed to ensuring the welfare of our tri-service armed forces, because their service and sacrifice deserve our utmost support,” he added.
Dr Boamah also extended appreciation to the team at the NHF for their dedication to the initiative.
He mentioned Prosper Hoetu (CEO), George Armah Tetteh, Rachel Ablah Aculey, Samuel Etornam Kornu, and William Oduro Ampaw as key contributors. “Big thanks to the NHF team… for working tirelessly to make this a reality!” the Minister said.
