East Gonja District Chief Executive, Issifu Salisu Be-Awuribe, has said there is calm in Buipe where there were fears of a simmering chieftaincy dispute escalating into violence.
There were reports of a tensed situation in the town after one of the factions in the chieftaincy dispute in the area challenged the lifting of a ban on drumming in the town.
But the DCE Tuesday said everything is under control.
He said the District Security Committee will be meeting to review the security situation on the ground.
Mr Be-Awuribe told Joy News the people of Buipe were still struggling to cope with the devastation of the floods that hit the area a couple of weeks ago.
