DKB has become a bit irrelevant – David Oscar

Ghanaian comedian-turned-musician, David Oscar Dogbe, has stated that comedian DKB's relevance in the comedy space has waned.

He told KMJ on Joy Prime that after observing the comedy industry for sometime, he is convinced that the one-time King of Comedy has to up his game.

“Based on what I see as an outsider; somebody who sits on the fringes right now watching the space from a distance, (this is out of no disrespect anyway), I don’t see him much on the radar. If you want to be very blunt you would say it looks like he has become a bit irrelevant from the point where I knew him,” he noted.

Oscar, however, said this should be a wake-up call for the former Big Brother Africa contestant.

“But this should not be discouraging. You see sometimes you rise, sometimes you fall. I will just encourage him to work harder. Because I know he’s got it and he’s got the fanbase. I would wish that I would see him on top of the radar,” he further stated.

David and DKB who were once very good friends fell out a few years ago.

About three months ago, while speaking on Joy Prime’s morning show, Prime in the Morning, DKB claimed that people he once supported in the advancement of their careers conspired against him, highlighting David Oscar’s 'betrayal' as the most hurtful.

"People I helped to become who they are by God’s grace connived to bring me down. The most painful one was David Oscar. I behaved like a soldier, stood behind him, fought Charterhouse so aggressively, and made Charterhouse my enemy, of which I didn’t care, only for David Oscar to later turn against me because I made him fight Charterhouse. It was painful," he told Roselyn Felli.

The comedian continued by saying that David Oscar also intended to ruin his career.

“He moved from one radio station to another, wanting to demonise and destroy me," DKB said.

He stated that even though Oscar was not his biological brother, he loved him and treated him as such.

In the meantime, David Oscar is preparing to host the third edition of his Reggae Spot Music Festival at the Havilah Restaurant in Koforidua on November 11, 2023.
