Greater Accra Regional Minister, Daniel Titus-Glover, has dismissed claims of embarking on landguard activities following the demolition of some structures under construction near the Dodowa Forest.
The Minister has also expressed readiness to meet any party who believes the demolition is illegal in court.
Mr Titus-Glover on Friday led the Greater Accra Regional Security Council (REGSEC) for the demolition after declaring the area a security zone.
The action was in response to concerns by the Greater Accra Regional House of Chiefs about increasing encroachment by private developers.
However, the chief of Anum-Asamankese and principal member of the Odoi Kese family at Obosomase, Osabarimah Essah Kwasi Mensah Bediako III has criticised the Minister’s action amidst threats to sue him.
Reacting to the chief’s comment on Adom FM’s morning show, Dwaso Nsem on Monday, the Regional Minister who has been incensed by the comments said he is only protecting his heritage.
According to him, all parties since July 9, 2024, were asked to bring their documentations on the land before the demolition took place.
“If they want to go to court, I’m ready. Let’s all go to court but I am not a land guard. I am the Chairman of REGSEC. I’m not REGSEC and we went there together. We will also bring our lawyers to court. If they claim the land was for them, why were soldiers guarding it?” he questioned.
