Gospel singer and medical professional Dr. Ama Kutin has released a new single titled Grace, marking yet another milestone in her dual journey as a doctor and musician.
The track, which features celebrated Zambian gospel singer Chisha, is accompanied by a visually captivating music video shot in Zambia.
The United States-based Doctor of Physical Therapy continues to challenge the notion that creative careers cannot coexist with demanding professions. Dr. Kutin has steadily built a reputation as a soulful gospel musician, blending chorale, acapella, and African rhythms to powerful effect.
Her consistency and vocal talent earned her the ‘Female Vocalist of the Year’ award at the 2023 Ghana Music Awards USA and recognition at the SAMMYs. Earlier this year, she released Trust In You, a collaboration with Zambia’s Assurance Acapella, signalling her growing affinity for Southern African gospel sounds.
Speaking to entertainment journalist JSmart Amenuveve, Dr. Kutin shared the story behind Grace:
“My inspiration was derived from a Biblical illusion of the men who made their way to the Gate of Heaven and must give reasons why they must be permitted entry. Where other men came with gold, others with money, others saying they are leaders of the church whereas there came one man dressed in rugged clothes who said he had nothing but got to the Heaven’s Gate by God’s ‘Grace.’”
She added that Zambia was deliberately chosen for the production to reflect its cultural and musical influence. “My prayer is that when people listen to the song and watch the visuals, they will be inspired by the message,” she said.
Dr. Kutin has also secured three nominations at the 2025 Ghana Music Awards USA: Gospel Song of the Year, Female Vocalist of the Year, and Music Video of the Year. These nominations reinforce her growing impact as a gospel artist, especially within the Diasporan music community.
With Grace, Dr. Ama Kutin continues to prove that talent, purpose, and perseverance can indeed go hand in hand.
