The FDI World Dental Federation has announced Dr. Louisa Ansong-Satekla, Ghana’s celebrated dental surgeon and public health advocate, as its Global Ambassador for an unprecedented fourth consecutive year, ahead of the 2025 World Oral Health Day (WOHD) campaign.
The 2025 campaign, rallying under the slogan “A Happy Mouth is a Happy Mind”, aims to spotlight the profound connection between oral health and overall well-being, urging global audiences to prioritize self-care through proactive dental hygiene.
Dr. Ansong-Satekla, a renowned dental surgeon and public health practitioner, will lead efforts to amplify this year’s message that oral health is foundational to mental resilience and physical vitality.
“Caring for your mouth isn’t just about a bright smile—it’s about nurturing your confidence, reducing stress, and safeguarding your body from systemic diseases,” she emphasized, adding that “every brush, floss, and dental check-up is an act of self-love that benefits your entire being.”
Dr. Ansong-Satekla will spearhead initiatives targeting underserved populations, reinforcing FDI’s mission to bridge global oral health disparities, including educational programmes, interactive community events, and social media engagement to spread accessible oral health practices.

Based in Ghana, Dr. Ansong-Satekla lead practitioner of Charisma Dental Clinic, a hub for advanced dental care and public health education. Her innovative outreach programs, including media campaigns and grassroots workshops, have positioned her as a leading Dental Surgeon in Ghana’s healthcare industry.
Her accolades include the 2021 Ghana Outstanding Women Awards (GOWA), Pulse Health Influencer of the Year, and Health Personality of the Year at the 2022 Women’s Choice Awards Africa. FDI praised her “dedication to merging clinical excellence with public advocacy,” noting her role in inspiring both peers and communities to prioritize preventive care. She is currently the Ambassador of Verna Mineral Water and GC Brand.
