The Member of Parliament (MP) for the Wa East constituency, Dr Seidu Jasaw, has commissioned two Community-based Health Planning and Services (CHPS) facilities at Chaggu-Paala and Tuosa to improve access to basic healthcare for residents.
The commissioning forms part of ongoing efforts to strengthen primary healthcare delivery within the constituency.
Speaking at the ceremonies, Dr Jasaw underscored the importance of bringing healthcare services closer to the people, particularly those in rural communities.

He noted that the completion of the CHPS facilities would help reduce travel time for patients seeking medical attention and ease pressure on larger health centres in neighbouring towns.
Dr Jasaw, who is also the Chairman of Parliament’s Food and Agriculture Committee, reaffirmed his commitment to supporting initiatives that enhance the wellbeing of constituents.

He stated that improved healthcare delivery remains a key pillar of development, alongside efforts to promote food security and sustainable livelihoods in the constituency.
Traditional leaders and community members from Chaggu-Paala and Tuosa expressed gratitude to the MP for his dedication to improving healthcare infrastructure.
They pledged to take ownership of the facilities and ensure their proper maintenance to serve present and future generations.
