Newly promoted Dreams FC will re-commission their adopted home grounds at Dawu this weekend after months of renovation.
This will form part of the plans of the club as they prepare for their debut campaign in the league.
Executive Chairman of the club, Kurt Okraku, confirmed the club’s decision to use the Dawu Park began immediately after their promotion to the Premier Division.
“We took the decision to use Dawu Park at the end of last season so we started renovating the pitch,” he told Asempa Sports.
“We have reached the level to test the level of work done.”
“The stadium has not hosted a top level game for a very long time so we have made some investment there.”
The Executive Chairman further confirmed the Kweiman side had been given the all clear to use the grounds after approval by the club licensing board.
“The licensing board have inspected the pitch and did not give us any contrary opinion that it is not ready,” Okraku added.
As part of the re-commissioning, Dreams FC will play Hearts of Oak in a friendly match in a bid to test the facilities especially the playing field.
“We are planning to open the Stadium on Sunday and we are inviting all Ghanaians. Our guests will be Hearts of Oak,” Okraku said.
“So we are preparing ourselves to use the grounds for which reason we want to test the grounds.”
“Our first fixture here is in three weeks’ time so we will have ample time to correct the defects.”
The Park has been left idle since 2003 after Dawu Youngsters were relegated from the Premier Divison.
Dreams begin their campaign away to Ebusua Dwarfs before hosting Bechem United at the Dawu Park in their first home fixture.
