The Electoral Commission has set Monday, July 18 for the re-registration of National Health Insurance (NHIS) registrants whose names have been deleted from the register.
The commission set the date after it announced it has deleted 56,772 names of persons who registered with the NHIS cards, deemed an illegal document for identifying a citizen.
The court also directed a re-registration exercise, ordering that those affected should be given another opportunity to register using appropriate citizenship identification documents.
At a news conference Tuesday, the Director of Electoral Services Samuel Tettey the exercise will last for ten days.
Meanwhile legal practitioner Samson Lardy Ayenini has urged other Ghanaians not part of the determined list of NHIS registrants, to voluntarily turn up at the commission to have their names deleted.
He stressed a Supreme Court view that the deletion of names of those who used the barred card is now "a shared responsibility".
