The Education Minister, Dr Yaw Osei Adutwum on Wednesday, engaged the heads of Christians Mission Schools to find a solution to the recent challenges faced by the education sector.
Issues discussed during the meeting included the 'No Fasting' policy enforced by the authorities of Wesley Girls' High School and a universal policy to help guide Faith-Based Schools (FBS) in the country.
From late April until now, Ghanaians have shared divided opinions on the decision of WGHS to prevent students from fasting due to its associated health implications.
Many Muslim institutions and personalities have since called on the school to rescind its decision while others have pushed for calm between both parties.

Following the controversy, the Education Minister has given the assurance to bring finality to the matter by liaising with all Faith-Based Schools (FBS) to "develop a Universal Policy to guide all FBS in the country".
Earlier this week, Dr Adutwum met with the Muslim Parliamentary Caucus and a representative of the Chief Imam to find a common ground.
Meanwhile, Faith-Based Schools have admonished the Minister to expedite actions to finalize the Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) submitted to the ministry some months ago.
