EduSpots has been selected as one of 31 organisations worldwide to join the second cohort of the FIFA Global Citizen Education Fund.
The Fund supports community-based organisations that are expanding access to quality education and sport for children and young people in underserved communities.
EduSpots enables communities to create the future they want to see through education, active citizenship and play. The organisation is excited to partner with Global Citizen and FIFA over the coming year to strengthen community-led, inclusive and joyful learning across its nationwide network.
Thanks to this support, EduSpots will train 100 community educators ("Catalysts") through high-quality residential leadership academies, with a focus on inclusive teaching methodologies. The organisation will also engage 10,000 learners ("Sparks") in community-led clubs spanning early years education, digital literacy, STEM, environmental action and gender equity, supported by feedback and recognition systems through the EduSpots App.
In addition, EduSpots will support 52 community-owned Spots to establish sports clubs, choosing from football, basketball, volleyball and table tennis, backed by local grant funding and ongoing mentoring. All 52 Spots will receive additional books and learning resources to strengthen educational opportunities. The organisation will also strengthen its education innovations by launching a new Edu-Animation channel, drawing on ideas generated by local Spots.
EduSpots' Catalyst Committee Chair, Nimatu Abdul-Rahman, said the organisation was honoured to be selected for the global initiative.

This partnership will help us deepen and expand our community-led education model, enabling even more young people to develop the skills, knowledge and mindset to become active citizens in their own communities."
EduSpots' Patron, Professor Elsie Effah Kaufmann, described the selection as recognition of the collective efforts of everyone involved with the organisation.

EduSpots expressed appreciation to Global Citizen and FIFA for the opportunity and also thanked its network of Catalysts, whose dedication and leadership continue to drive the organisation's work across Ghana.
The FIFA Global Citizen Education Fund is a global initiative aimed at expanding access to quality education and football for children in more than 200 communities worldwide.
FIFA and Global Citizen launched the Fund to mobilise USD $100 million by the 2026 FIFA World Cup Final.
EduSpots is among the beneficiaries receiving grants ranging from USD $50,000 to USD $250,000 to expand access to and improve children's education. The organisation is proud to receive the grant alongside organisations from nine countries.
To date, the Fund has raised more than USD $30 million through contributions from philanthropies, major brands and corporations, individual donors, and proceeds from ticket sales to major music and sporting events.
