Fredrick Egan, host of Efie Kwaenso on Tema-based Adon FM from the stable of the Multimedia Group, stole the show at this year’s Temafest at the Community Eight Park Sunday.
Popularly called, Efo, Mr Egan had to at some point be ‘gagged’ to allow the thousands who thronged the park to participate in other games.
It all started when Kofi Asare Brako otherwise known as Abatey, sought the views of Efo about the event and in his response, Efo, speaking in his native Ewe intonation, said, “oh this year’s Tomafest is great.”
“No, no, no,” cut in Abatey who said the event was Temafest and not Tomafest. Then Efo also cut in, “ah that is what am saying, Tomafest, Tomafest.”
After repeatedly deliberately mispronouncing the word with a frown and sending the hundreds of people who abandoned other games and started milling around him, Abatey asked him if he had been to school at all to which he responded in the affirmative. Asked in which region he attended school, Efo said Ashaiman and will not listen to any correction that Ashaiman is not a region.
When Abatey asked what level of education he had attained (because they were speaking in Twi, the question appeared like where did you reach in school?), Efo’s response was that he went to school up to Kasoa and that if he had not been stopped, he would have continued to probably Elmina or even beyond.
