The Energy and Green Transition Minister, John Abdulai Jinapor, has sworn in the newly constituted Board of the VRA Resettlement Trust Fund, charging members to remain focused on the core mandate for which the Trust was established.
At a brief ceremony, the Minister reminded the Board that the Fund was created to address the needs of communities affected by the operations of the Volta River Authority (VRA), particularly those resettled as a result of hydroelectric projects.
He urged them to ensure that their work delivers tangible improvements in the lives of beneficiary communities.
The Minister further encouraged the Board to prioritise critical social interventions, including public health, education and sanitation, among other pressing needs that directly benefit the affected communities.
He emphasised that the Trust must remain responsive and accountable in its stewardship of resources.
The newly sworn-in members of the Board are Halid Abdul Rauf (Chairman); Helen Adjoa Ntoso; Bismark Tetteh Nyarko; Dominic Napare; Joycelyn Tetteh; Dr Seidu Mohammed; and Ing. Samuel Fletcher.
The Minister expressed confidence in the capacity and experience of the members to deliver on the mandate of the Trust Fund and contribute meaningfully to improving the welfare of resettled communities across the country.
