Ghana’s Michael Essien ended his Real Madrid loan spell on high scoring in the final match of the season against Osasuna.
The Bison scored in the 4-2 victory by soaring above his markers to head home a corner kick in the first half.
It was his second goal for the Spanish giants since joining them on loan at the beginning of the season.
Higuan had opened the Madrid account early on in the game but Osasuna drew level later in the second half.
Karim Benzema and Jose Callejon snuff out two late crucial goals to ensure that Madrid will at least end a disappointing season with a win.
The victory was also crucial for Jose Mourinho who together with Essien would be going back to Chelsea next season.
