Ethiopian Airlines has been declared the Best Customer Service Airline at the 2018 edition of award at the West African Business Award (WABEA). 

The Awards ceremony which took place at the Kempinski Gold Coast Hotel in Accra on the May 17, saw Ethiopian Airlines rewarded for its outstanding customer service both on-land and on-board operations.

The award was received by the Airlines' Airport Manager, Tsegaye Assefa and the Sales Manager, Abdulrahman Muhammed. 

The West Africa Business Excellence Awards (WABEA) provides a platform to recognize individuals and companies that play a significant role in the development of various sectors in West African to attract investors into the sub-region. 

The Awards recognizes  the industry’s merits and set a benchmark for excellence, whilst rewarding innovative ideas that have pushed the boundaries of what is possible. The Awards also recognizes excellence in industries, sectors and individual/personality excellence.

In her comments after accepting the Award, the Area Manager of Ethiopian Airlines in Ghana Mrs. Genet W/Michael, thanked the organisers for recognising the good works of the Airline in Ghana.

She further reminded the public that Ethiopian Airlines has started a new flight from Abidjan in Cote d'Ivoire to Newark in the USA which makes it possible to travel from Either Lome or Abidjan to Newark seven days a week.

This Award comes as the Airline starts flights to Manchester and also prepares to receive its 100th Aircraft.

  
Ethiopian Airlines, the largest Aviation Group in Africa and SKYTRAX certified Four Star Global Airline, announced that it will, on June 5, 2018, take delivery of its 100th aircraft, a Boeing 787-900, the first for an African airline in the history of the continent. 

The airline thus maintains its pioneering aviation technology leadership role as well as leadership position in all aspects of Aviation Services on the continent.

Ethiopian operates a mix of state-of-the-art aircraft with an average fleet age of five years. The Airline has 5 more Boeing 787-900 and 16 Airbus A350 airplanes on order, among others. Ethiopian was the first African Airline and second only to Japan to operate the B787  Dreamliner in 2012 and the first carrier in Africa to usher with  the Airbus A350 XWB in 2016.
