Young actress Eunice Ohene has made her first ever debut on the movie scene with a performance that has clearly left an indelible mark in the hearts of many.
Eunice, along with a long list of established stars that include Yvonne Okoro, Beverly Afaglo, Ebi Bright, Zynell Lydia Zuh, John Dumelo, David Prince Osei and Adjetey Annan, Nana Ekua Amoah popularly known as Mzbel and Ciara Zita Galega, star in Single Six, a new movie from the stables of Venus Films.
Playing the role of BB, daughter of Tatiana (played by Yvonne Okoro), Eunice and Yvonne Okoro masterful executed their roles to the delight of many who attended the special preview of the movie Tuesday at the Silverbird Cinema.
Eunice handled her role skillfully to an extent that you will hardly notice it was her debut. Constantly in character, she is without a doubt a breath of fresh air to the movie industry.
Her role is a daunting one – one of pain and rejection, not from a stranger but her own mum. Suffering from abuse from her dad, BB turns to her mum for motherly love but to her dismay, her mum was on a quest to disown her in order to marry her dream man, and boy did she portray the role with ease and agility!
After the press preview of the movie, the young actress told Myjoyonline.com in an interview that it was rather a miraculous one as she was spotted by the director of the movie who was impressed with her audition and picked her for the role ahead of the many ladies who wanted it. Delightfully, Eunice revealed that her debut is a dream come true.
With her free flowing British accent, it was clear that she is ‘new to Ghana.’ She revealed that she was born in Obuasi but has spent a greater part of her life in the UK, only returning to Ghana some few months ago after obtaining a degree in Criminology.
Eunice said she was elated to play the BB role because “it had soul, it had depth and I think that to see all these glamorous ladies! And they are all chasing after men.
"There is a real story behind it; they had a past…a bitter past, a painful past and I was so glad that I was able to portray and have that transpire when you watch the film.”
