Former Ex-Vicar General of Konongo-Mampong Diocese of the Catholic Church in the Ashanti Region has commissioned 12-unit classroom block for his childhood school as a payback appreciation package.

The gift from Rev. Fr. Paul Attah-Nsiah, to the school, is in conjunction with the vision and spirit of the Big Heart of Faith Outreach, of which he founded.

The ultramodern facility came in response to the school's passionate call for a safe, serene environment for teaching, learning and essential amenities of a 21st century school.

Even though, the project was delayed by 6 months due to covid-19 pandemic, Rev Fr. ATTAH-NSIAH expresses his enthusiasm for their ability to deliver on a promise to build a multi-purpose school complex.

The $400,000 incorporated virtually every requirement of a school almost all the needs of the school.

It has good ventilation, technology for the 21st century learning and computer laboratory.

“We will have a library, science laboratories to equip students with 21st. century scientific information.”

There are also adequate bathroom facilities for administrators, staff, students and improved access to drinking water.

Quoting Ex-South African President, Nelson Mandela, Rev Fr. Attah-Nsiah said “Education is the most powerful weapon that you can use to change the world. It is the key to development and social change.”

He indicates that it has been his own motivation, and vision to help build the country through children and their families.

"This is where hope begins; where seeds are planted, nourished, and grown."

Half a century ago, Rev. Fr. Attah-Nsiah academic journey began at the Roman Catholic Primary School at Ejisu-Besease, exactly where the new structure is seated.

And he could only pay back teachers who helped shape his life by building a school block for them.

"All of this is God’s workmanship, with the grace of many, many good and generous people in America"

Education and transformation of lives is Rev Fr. Attah-Nsiah priority as a man of God.

He asserts that the image of the heart is very descriptive of what actually informed them in establishing Big Heart of Faith Outreach.

"It would be their heart’s response to a great need for children on this side of the world. To offer that kind of love to people they would never meet and to trust that their investment would bear fruit is a great act of faith with love."

He commends donors for continuing to provide assistance to have positive impact and to lift some of the excessive demand on government.

"A very big thank you goes out to our donors, large and small, from the USA parishes of St. Joseph the Worker and St. Columbkille’s communities as well as to very generous others: the Sisters of the BVM and Warren and Mary Lynn and others – some not even in either parish but heard about our cause and need."

Rev Fr. Attah-Nsiah reminds school officials to recognise that the new school facilities come with continuing cost, including paying electricity bills, employing security staff to protect the property, among others.

He urges them to see the new building as their project and not that of Father Paul or Big Heart.

"We all have differing roles to play in moving forward. All hands must be on deck to raise funds to support the financial needs of the school. In appreciation to the huge investment by our donors and the Big Heart of Faith Outreach, we need to use the facilities judiciously by cultivating a culture of maintenance and avoiding using the facility as prayer and worship center by churches and as “private school” for some individuals."

Former Metropolitan Archbishop of Kumasi, Emeritus Kwasi Sarpong commends Rev Fr, Attah-Nsiah and his donors from United States of America for coming to the aid of the school.

“We thank you,” he says.

Ejisumanhene Nana Oguakro Afrani Okesse IV lauds the initiative and calls on teachers to make proper use of the facility.

Nana Okesse IV urges teachers of the school to teach the students well.

He says it is important they groom the children well to make the best of the next generation.
