The Rapid Response Team of the Bekwai Forest District has burnt an excavator, changfan machines, and water pump machines at the Apamprama Forest Reserve.
This was part of efforts to clamp down on illegal mining activities in the area.

This was disclosed by Bekwai Forest District Manager, Ernest Adofo, in an interview with Adom News correspondent Isaac K. Normanyo.

According to Mr. Adofo, the district received intelligence that illegal miners were operating along the Oda River within the Apamprama Forest Reserve, located in the Amansie Central District of the Ashanti Region.
However, the perpetrators managed to escape before the team arrived, avoiding arrest.

Mr. Adofo reiterated the Forestry Commission’s commitment to protecting Ghana’s natural resources, stating that no one will be allowed to destroy the country’s rivers and forests.
