Kwabena Gariba, a farmer at Assin- Fosu who stole two bunches of plantain valued at GH¢ 30.00 and threatened to harm its owner was on Monday fined GH¢ 60.00 by the district magistrate's court at Assin-Fosu.
The convict, who pleaded guilty to stealing and threatening, will go to jail for two months in default.
The Presiding Magistrate, Mr Joseph Blay ordered the convict to pay a restitution of GH¢ 30.00 to the owner in addition to the fine.
Prosecuting, Inspector Peter Attah told the court that on July 27, 2009, Gariba went to the farm of one Talata Abudulai, harvested his plantain and threatened to harm him when Talata challenged him.Source: GNA
