The Agriculture Ministry has announced that the 40th edition of Ghana's National Farmers' Day will be celebrated on Friday, November 8, 2024.
According to a press release signed by the Acting Chief Director, Paul Siameh, the event will be held in the Greater Accra Region, with the main celebration at the Alisa Hotel, North Ridge, beginning at 4:00 p.m.
This year, the Ministry has decided against regional-level celebrations. Instead, each region is permitted to nominate winners for ten regional award categories.
These awardees will travel to Accra, where they will be honored at the national Awards Night Ceremony.
Regional Ministers will present awards to honorees from their respective regions during the ceremony.

The Ministry has directed that all expenses related to the participation of regional award winners, including travel, accommodation, and meals, be covered by their respective Regional Coordinating Councils.
Additionally, Regional Ministers and Regional Directors of Agriculture are expected to attend the Awards Night Ceremony, with their participation costs also borne by their councils.
The Ministry emphasised the importance of the event, describing the role of regional representatives in celebrating and acknowledging the vital contributions of Ghanaian farmers to national development.
