Ghana Football Association president Kwesi Nyantakyi's bid to remain in office was handed a huge boost after FIFA postponed the proposal to implement age restrictions for committee members.
World football's governing body have shelved the discussions regarding age limits and restricted terms in office, while FIFA boss Sepp Blatter described the idea as a form of discrimination.
A FIFA statement read: "As no consensus has been reached among the member associations and their confederations on the agenda items "term of office" and "age limit", a more thorough analysis is required.
"Therefore, both items will be examined further and the Congress will be asked to put them back on the agenda of the 2014 FIFA Congress with concrete proposals."
The news means Nyantakyi will be able to register himself for re-election as head of Ghana's FA, while Blatter himself would also be able to run for re-election in his current post, despite being 79 years of age.
