Some shops along the Osu Oxford have been gutted by fire.
The affected buildings included a computer school, phone shops and a hotel.
Some eyewitnesses told Joy News they suspect an electrical fault caused the fire.
Joy News reporter Nana Adjei Essuman who was at the scene said the fire in the Towers Computers building which is very close to the Papaye Fast Food Restaurant has been brought under control.
It is not readily known how much has been lost through the fire.
Osu Oxford street is among the busy areas in Accra.
