Fire outbreak at an electricity Sub-station E at the Korle-Bu Teaching Hospital has caused cuts in the supply of power to major departments of the hospital.The sub-station E, one of seven sub-stations supplying electricity to the hospital, is directly behind the Radiology Department of the hospital and experienced some explosion resulting from underground cables torching, causing the fire in the process.The fire has been brought under control and engineers are working feverishly to restore power to the hospital.The Chief Executive Officer of the hospital, Prof. Nii Otu Nartey told Joy News' Dzifa Bampoh it was his expectation that power will be restored by late afternoon Thursday.The major affected areas, according to him, are the surgical, medical and emergency areas of the hospital.He said contingency plans were being put in place to minimize the impact of the power cuts."We are making arrangements to move some of the patients out of the surgical, medical emergency areas to the wards so that they can be attended to," he said.Story by Malik Abass Daabu/Myjoyonline.com/Ghana
