A fireman, who used a hot box iron to inflict several wounds on his wife, has been arraigned before the Asamankese Circuit Court.
Peter Dogbo, pleaded not guilty to intentionally and unlawfully causing harm to his wife, Rebecca Sedor, and was remanded in prison custody until September 9.
Police Chief Inspector Kate Ogyiri, prosecuting, told the court that Dogbo and Rebecca were married and residing at Asamankese.
He said for sometime now the couple had been quarrelling frequently, and on July 27 this year, the accused picked a quarrel with Rebecca while she was ironing her children’s dresses.
Dogbo then snatched the hot box iron and used it to inflict several wounds on Rebecca.
A report was made to the police and Dogbo was arrested.
On interrogation, he denied the offence but after investigations, he was charged with the offence of intentionally and unlawfully causing harm to his wife and put before the court.
