Five Persons were killed on the spot on Thursday night when three vehicles were involved in an accident near Ekoso (popularly known as Quarshie Nkwanta) in the West Akyem District.
The dead, whose identities were not immediately known - three females and two males - were conveyed to the Asamankesi Government Hospital pending autopsy.
Twenty-five other passengers were injured and have been taken to hospitals - 16 of them to the ST Dominic Hospital at Akwatia and nine to the Asamankesi Government Hospital.
The Akwatia District Commander, Deputy Superintendent of Police Samuel Odame said a Mazda car that was travelling from Osenase towards Asamankesi collided with a Hyundai vehicle that was coming from the opposite direction.
The car rammed into the Mercedes bus moving from Asamankesi to Osenase.
