Vice President of the Ghana Football Association has refused to be drawn into the blame game following the Stars’ 0-0 stalemate with Sudan at the Baba Yara Sports Stadium on Sunday.
Tongues have been wagging heavily against Kwasi Appiah who took over as caretaker coach following the departure of Serbian Milovan Rajevac.
Expectations were high, with pundits predicting a favourable win for Kwasi Appiah, and for Ghana against Sudan.
But the Stars were largely unimpressive and could only manage a point.
Critics against the appointment of a local coach appear to have been vindicated.
But speaking to the media after the match, Mr. Fred Pappoe believes the result, disappointing as it was, could not be blamed on the new coach.
"It was disappointing but this is football. These things happen. It has got nothing to do with Kwasi Appiah.
"...I don't think it has anything to do with coaching," he said.
The Stars have an international friendly in November, and will resume the Nations Cup qualification in March.
It is not clear if Kwasi Appiah will still be maintained for those matches.
