The French Embassy in Accra announced on Tuesday that it would introduce the new procedure for biometric visas on December 22, 2007.
"This procedure requires the compulsory appearance of the applicant before the visa official for a digital thumbprint and a digital photograph of the applicant to be taken," it said in a statement issued in Accra.
The Embassy said all types of passports and visas were affected by the new procedure.
