The Legon Botanical Garden is bubbling with excitement as the second edition of the Joy FM Christmas Family Party in the park is underway.
Already the children seemed to have stolen the show with some exquisite dance moves which left many of the adults smiling and laughing with admiration.
For the few who were eliminated early in the competition, they burst in uncontrollable tears, needing their mummies to console them; not even the soothing, silky, sweet voice of Doreen Andoh could help. Their eyes were on the prize- the Indomie take away, which were actually taken away by ten glamorous kids who were just lovely to watch dancing.
For some who were terrible with dancing minded their own business in the bouncy castles whilst others punched with fury the plethora of video games available.
The more daring ones have taken to boxing. Drowned in a boxing gear, gloves, the Azumah Nelsons and Joseph Agbekos in the making pummeled each other. Surprisingly, there are no tears from the ring; at least not yet.
The adults are hooked up on the pool tables, table tennis courts shedding some fats. Food and drinks are littered on every table as the families fill in and replenish after hours of dancing and playing.
As usual the Djs’ Dj, His Blackness manipulated the console teasing out danceable tunes for a while before the shadow crew gave a rendition of some sweet local songs which left all wiggle their waste, tap their feet, nod their heads or throw their two fingers in the air in absolute frenzy.
The mummies and daddies are gearing up for the Karaoke session where they will have the opportunity to mount the stage to dish out some lovely tunes.
For now Kojo Oppong Nkrumah, Israel Laryea Doreen Andoh, Bola Ray, and other Joy FM staff have taken over the floor in a fierce competition with some families.
If the first edition of the Party in the Park was a success, the second, the Christmas edition, judging by what has gone on so far is absolutely phenomenal. Wait a minute, the party has rather just began...
