A 23-year-old galamsey operator, Kwasi Ernest, has been remanded into prison custody by a circuit court in Tarkwa, for defiling a six-year-old girl.
He pleaded not guilty and will re-appear on December 3.
Prosecuting , Police Detective Chief Inspector Oscar Amponsah told the court presided over by Mr. Samuel obeng Diawuo that the complainant, Akosua Dogo is a trader, and lives in the same vicinity with the grandmother of the victim at Gari Factory, a suburb of Huni/Valley.
Inspector Amponsah said on August 3, the victim and her elder sister Gladys Obeng were playing in their house when the accused came to the scene and saw the victim.
The prosecution said the victim followed the accused person to his house where he lured her into his room and forcefully had sexual intercourse with her.
The Prosecution said the victim narrated her ordeal to her grandmother when she returned home on that same day, bu the accused person denied after being confronted.
According to Detective Amponsah, a report was made to the Police and the accused person was arrested and charged with the offense.
