Vodafone Ghana has appointed Gayheart Mensah, as Head of External Affairs.  His appointment takes effect from March 24, 2014.

In his new role, he will be responsible for Regulatory Affairs, Business Continuity, Corporate Security and the Anti-Bribery and Compliance agenda of Vodafone Ghana. He brings on-board rich experience in stakeholder management, communications and media relations.

He joins Vodafone from Tullow Oil plc where he was the External Affairs and Communications Manager responsible for all communications and stakeholder management for the TEN project - a $5billion investment in Ghana’s second major offshore oil and gas field.

From October 2004 to September 2009, he was the Communications Manager for Barclays Bank Ghana limited and also worked in a similar position at Unilever Ghana for 4 years.

Gayheart earlier in his career worked as a journalist with the Ghana Broadcasting Corporation, the Graphic Communications Group and the New Times Corporation.

He holds a Masters in Business Administration from the Paris School of Graduate Management and has post-graduate diplomas in Marketing and Organisation Development.

Gayheart looks forward to strengthening Vodafone Ghana’s broader stakeholder engagement and management strategy and also wants to increase visibility, credibility and accurate understanding of the operations of Vodafone Ghana.

The Chief Executive Officer of Vodafone Ghana, Haris Broumidis, said, “We are very pleased to have Gayheart join us. We believe his knowledge and experience in Communications, Stakeholder engagement and management will be invaluable to Vodafone as we continue to project the brand. We wish him the very best in his new role” he said.
