Gateway Broadcast Services (GBS), Africa's exciting new satellite pay-TV service, which was launched in Ghana last month has begun live broadcast of the Italian Serie A on its G Sports 1 Channel.
With exclusive rights to broadcast 80 percent of the Barclays Premiership and all the home games of the Serie A's top ten clubs, GBS has given the assurance that it will deliver to Ghanian viewers their football heroes.
This includes many of the top African stars who are expected to make the Ghana 2008 African Cup of Nations.
Michael Yamson, General Manager of GBS Ghana told GNA Sports that, "We aim to make the most entertaining football in the world accessible to everyone who loves the beautiful game.
"Together with coverage of the Barclays Premier League and CAF Champions League, the arrival of Serie A brings more fun and more thrills to GTV screens where football is more than just a game - it's an essential part of life," he added.
The Italian Serie A is one of the world's most elite football leagues and the home of the current UEFA champions league holders, AC Millan.
Mr Yamson said the rights which extend to all of the sub-Saharan African continent except South Africa and Nigeria will feature Italy's leading 20 clubs who will battle it out each year from August to May for the scudetto.
