Ghana FA vice president George Afriyie has outlined measures he will wish to implement as a member of the FA’s powerful executive committee.
Key amongst his plans is the quick adjudication of cases brought before the Disciplinary committee of the FA.
Afriyie, who also serves as an emergency committee member of the association wants the practice of point deductions to be tedious for clubs.
‘I want to see us implement a sole judge system in the way we adjudicate cases in our disciplinary committees,” he told Joy Sports
“Sole judge in the sense that the number of days and times we spend in coming out with decisions affect the smooth running of our football.
“Take for instance, a case between Kumasi Asante Kotoko, Hearts of Oak and Ashgold. Initially there was Ashgold who even pulled out, these are decisions that need to be taken within a week no matter how it is, and that is what pertains or happens elsewhere,” the FA Vice President added
“I believe that we can do it, now in doing that, it means that teams that protest for points need to pay for it, pay for it in the sense that for us to attract the competent lawyers to adjudicate cases it means that we be able to pay them well.”
“If you want to protest for a point, you should be prepared to pay GHC 5000 or GHC10000 into protesting for a point.”
“Let’s us make the point of people trying to win board room points very difficult and expensive.”
Afriyie’s comments come on the back of disciplinary cases which have delayed the start of the 2015/2016 Ghana league season.
