The Parliamentary Select Committee on Education says construction works on facilities for tertiary institutions have stalled due to lack of funds in the GETFund. The committee has been touring various tertiary institutions in the country to get first hand information about the challenges facing them and how the GETFund is being utilized. Stephen Balado Manu, MP for Ahafo Ano South is the Chairman of the Committee says the Committee is asking the country’s tertiary institutions to develop policies on HIV/AIDS. Mr. Balado Manu says such a policy is necessary because the knowledge being acquired by the youth will come to nothing if they are not exposed to the dangers of the menace. So far only the Ho Polytechnic has developed such a policy.
