The Ghana Football Association has begun the process of investigating allegations of bribery made against national Under-20 coach Sellas Tetteh by one of the players the coach axed from his World Youth Championships party.
Ishmael Yartey claimed Tetteh had picked the players to represent Ghana based on who was willing to do a deal on their match bonuses.
GFA president says the allegations are so serious they are keen to get to the bottom of it.
“Corruption is not something you can joke with so we have already written to the player to come forward and back up the claims so we can deal with this as quickly as possible,” Nyantekyie told KickOffGhana.com.
The allegations which borders on the integrity of the national U-20 coach has rocked the Black Satellites just before they kick off their bid for a first ever world youth title.
There have been suggestions that Tetteh can use the ordinary courts to clear his name given the damaging nature of the allegations but Nyantekyie says its an issue that must be handled internally.
"First we must try to resolve this with our internal systems. If the coach resorts to the ordinary courts it will be a statement of a lack of confidence in the ability of the football association to deal with the matter," Nyantekyie said.
