The President Mills led government of Ghana has demanded extra security for its players ahead of the Nations Cup scheduled to kick-start in Angola, later Sunday. This follows the killing of three Tologese team members who were ambushed by rebels in the South Western African town on Friday. The government is also demanding an immediate enquiry into the circumstances under which the team came under heavy gun fire and prosecutes perpetrators of the crime. A statement issued from the office of the information minister Zita Okaikoi said the act is intended to dampen the spirit of participating countries and to destroy the enthusiasm of the game, the statement said. Ghana like Togo is based in Cabinda where the incident took place. Players of the Togolese team have decided to take part in the tournament barely a day after the government of the West African country announced it was pulling out of the tournament.
