Ghana made a faulty start to their quest to annex the African nations for amputee football (CANAF Ghana 2011), trophy by going down 1-2 to Sierra Leone.The tournament which commenced on Saturday at the El Wak Stadium with hosts Ghana playing the counterparts from Sierra Leone attracted a sizeable crowd to cheer the home team, but to their disappointment, the host nation lost painfully.The defeat notwithstanding, the team believes qualifying to the next stage is not out of reach.Unisa Mansaray shot the Sierra Leoneans ahead in the 10th minute but the Black Challenge drew level nine minutes later through a penalty kick by Collins Gyamfi.Sierra Leone proved their worth and snatched the match winner in the 65th minute through a goal by Dondor Marrah.Ghana’s next match is against Niger on Wednesday in Group A at the Accra sports stadium.The Black Challenge says they will definitely bounce back and weather the storm and keep the quest of winning the trophy alive.Some fans who watch the first game however believe the team will have to lift up their game to make any meaningful impact in the ongoing tourney.
