The Organisers of the annual Ghana Music Awards will call for nominations for the 2011 edition of the awards in December 2010.
A source at Charter House, the event organisers, hinted Myjoyonline.com Monday that organisation of the most coveted ceremony that awards the country’s finest in the music industry has began in earnest.
The source pegged the calendar year for the 2011 Awards from December 2009 to November 2010 and musical works that fall in that time frame will be awarded on a yet to be announced date next year.
Organisers will therefore be calling on artistes, producers and interested persons to submit works that fall in that time frame for consideration for the awards.
Nominations will be received from December 2010 through to January 2011 and organisers may possibly start the selection process in February 2011.
The 2010 edition of the awards saw one of Ghana’s youngest artistes, Sarkodie sweeping five awards including the coveted Artiste of the Year in what was tagged as one of the best music awards since its inception.
Organisers are promising a much bigger and better awards next year which they say will be full of surprises.
