A total systems failure at power transmitter, Ghana Grid Company Limited (GRIDCo) Sunday evening plunged the entire nation into darkness.
Mr Albert Kwesi Quainoo, Head of Public Relations at the company, told Joy FM the total blackout which occurred just before 7:00 pm was being investigated to enable technicians restore power around the country.
He was certain the fault was within the domain of GRIDCo’s transmission systems.
While the Volta River Authority is the generator of electricity, GRIDCo is responsible for the provision of transmission lines for the distribution of the power by the Electricity Company of Ghana.
