The Handball Association of Ghana (HAG) has invited 24 men and 22 women to commence preparations for the All African Games Zone 3 eliminations scheduled for Burkina Faso in February.
A statement issued in Accra on Tuesday, named the male players as Richard Ankrah, Jacob Asare, Selma Adams, Isaac Ankrah, Frank Yeboah, Adams Mahama, Innocent Denutsui, Samuel Agyare, Rufai Abubakaarai and Eugene Ahom.
Others are Peter Amegashie, Christian Banla, Francis Asare, John Amanfi, Edmund Nii Lamptey, Yusif Fudu, Ebenezer Mensah, Theophilus Ashong, James Baidoo., Hillary Mills, Joseph Cudjoe, Ishmael Amoako and Joseph Quaye.
Female invitees include Afua Acheampong, Patience Bokor, Esther Agyeiwaah, Letsa Ruth, Hajara Mahama and Rosina Lomo.
The rest are Juliana Bediako, Grace Agbozo, Mary Adjei, Stella Aduyor, Vida Mills, Comfort Danso, Latifa Larley, Vida Apperkon, Jennifer Owoo, Sahiratu Issaka, Eunice Nartey, Vincentia Torsutse, Akosua Gyegu, Asantewaah Osei, Vivian Kutsu and Emelia Abbey.
Meanwhile, Ghana Navy defeated Ghana National Fire Service 24-23 to win the 2006 de Youngsters Handball Knock-Out Competition played at the Prisons Sports Complex in Accra on Sunday.
Police Ladies also defeated Prison Service 21-19 to emerge champions in Ladies encounter.
