The International Telecommunication Union is supporting Ghana to establish Digital Transformation Centers in about 241 ICT Community centers across the country.
The project in collaboration with the Ghana Investment Fund for Electronic Communication, GIFC is expected to train more than 14,000 beneficiaries with basic digital skills in expanding their businesses.

The Minister also disclosed that government have received a credit facility to fund the construction of a rural telephony sites and internet connectivity infrastructure for more than 2,000 communities in the country.
The program which is expected to connect about three million citizens to internet access is expected to be completed in the next 18 months.
The project by the ITU with support from CISCO and the Norwegian government is to ensure that digital skill is no longer a barrier for Micro, Small and Medium Enterprises in developing economies.
The Digital Tansformation Centre will also be used by the World Food Programme to train some 1 million farmers and workers in the food value chain.
Meanwhile, there are already some women and youth groups benefiting from the project from the Dodowa and Assin Fosu ICT Community Centres.
