Press Statement: Ghana US State ALUMNI ASSOCIATION
We, the members of the Ghana – U.S. Department of State Alumni
Association with deep regret heard of the passing of the late President JEA
Mills a distinguished Fulbright alumnus, a member of our association.
As a young scholar with outstanding leadership potential, the young JEA Mills was awarded the prestigious scholarship for his academic merit and
leadership potential.
This afforded him the opportunity to study, teach, and more importantly exchange ideas in a multicultural setting within the context of different perspectives.
This leaves no doubt in our minds that the inter cultural exchange experience contributed immensely to the sharpening of his sterling leadership qualities of humility, respect for all persons the asomdwehene he is fondly remembered for.
In line with the inherent passion of all Ghanaian Alumni to meaningfully
contribute to the development of Ghana, we do hereby pay him our last
respects and we will always remember that he exemplified what we stand
for as an association.
