Ghana Tennis Federation recently hosted ITF wheelchair Tennis Coaching workshop Course from 1-3 December 2016 at the Accra Sports Stadium tennis courts. The course was made possible through funding from Ghana Tennis Federation, Dan Davan group of Companies and ITF wheelchair Tennis development Project Fund.
There were 20 candidates in all, with the host nation Ghana having 16 candidates. The remaining 4 candidates were from Gambia
Instructors: Daniel James and Louis Humt both from USA took participants through the 3 days course.
The course is expected to impact wheelchair tennis greatly, since all the coaches are involved in the wheelchair tennis programs in their respective clubs. Therefore, the knowledge they acquired is going to help their respective clubs to develop wheelchair tennis players. Consequently the game of wheelchair tennis will not remain the same.
The closing ceremony came after the written exams on Saturday 3 December and certificate of participation was awarded to the participant coaches and the day also mark World Disability Day after which other disable athlete join Wheelchair tennis team for celebration
