Competition at the Commonwealth Games in India will begin today with Ghana carrying hopes of winning some medals in six disciplines.
Despite earlier organizational problems, the games were opened with what the international media describe as a lavish ceremony.
Badminton, table tennis and weightlifting are among the disciplines that will start today and Ghana will take part.
But analyst Karl Tuffour said the focus for Ghana at this competition should be gaining the experience.
He said he wouldn’t care if the athletes don’t win any medals at all because the experience they garner in that competition can prove invaluable at the 2012 Olympic Games in London.
