A prominent Ghanaian road construction company, J. Adom Limited, has been nominated for honours in the annual Canadian Information Productivity Awards (CIPA) scheduled for June 22, in Ottawa, Canada, next year.
Mr Raymond Odum, Public Relations Officer of Doorstep V. Promotion Limited, a media consultancy and research group, told the Ghana News Agency in Sunyani in a telephone interview on Tuesday that J. Adom Limited is the only company in West Africa selected to compete with other multinational companies in Africa.
The PRO said deserving companies would receive awards in different categories, which are the most improving company in Africa and the most efficient company in Africa and would be presented with gold, silver and diamond medals.
Mr Odum said 30 companies "are expected to receive medals at the ceremony with 10 companies receiving gold, silver or a diamond awards based on performance".
He explained that J. Adom Ltd was nominated after its undertakings had been carefully studied and thoroughly assessed and had met the CIPA's criteria.
Mr Odum added that J. Adom Ltd's other areas of operations in sawmills, wood processing, housing projects, quarrying and distribution of beverages were also considered.
He said the Canadian awards ceremony has now cast its net wider to include other multinational organizations to give the ceremony an international spice.
