Ghanaians have taken to Twitter to chastise National Democratic Congress (NDC) Parliamentarians for an unsavoury tag on the newest member of the House.
Lydia Alhassan contested and won her late husband, Emmanuel Agyarko’s seat and was sworn into office Tuesday.
However, following some disturbances at La Bawaleshie, one of the over 130 polling centres, the NDC says they would not recognise the new MP.
As she was being sworn into office, the NDC MPs staged a walkout while hurling placards of a very unsavoury and insensitive phrase.
Some persons on social media have called on the NDC MPs to apologise.
NDC as a matter of strategy must apologise. How on Earth can you call a woman a "Bloody Widow"? This is just way off the mark!

NDC indeed does not respect women. Couldn't they have left the 'bloody widow' stuff out of this unnecessary and self-seeking act? Bloody widow s3n? Sour losers!! Did the NPP do same when NDC won the violence-ridden bye-election held in Talensi?

What crime has Lydia Alhassan committed that warrants her being labeled as “bloody widow “? Was she the one who sent those thugs to unleashed violence on some NDC supporters ? To label her as “bloody widow is shameful!!!

You can”™t be arguing for Sam George”™s perpetrators to be brought to book for the assault and yet calling another member “bloody widow” for an election she duly won. And now detailing to say you won”™t recognize her ? Lol. Jokers!
