Ghanaians on social media platform, Twitter, are not excited about news that price for a litre of fuel will hit GH¢11 from Wednesday.
According to the Bulk Oil Distributors, this is due to the volatility on the market as well as the rising cost of crude on the international market.
According to the Chief Executive, Senyo Hosi, the cedi which is depreciating in relation to other major trading currencies is also a cause of the rise in the price of fuel.
Many twitter users believe this would worsen their economic conditions as commercial drivers are very likely to revise transport fares upwards once again to cushion them from the high cost of fuel.
International crude oil prices are now easing...
But Ghana uses automatic adjustment tariffs when international #FuelPrice goes up only...
We have seen it under NDC's #JDM and under NPP's Addo D during the covid
So y'all know what to expect now🤦🤦🤦— John Persky-pliers (@johnpersky) March 15, 2022

Recently, commercial drivers increased transport fares by 15%.
Among those bemoaning the high cost of fuel in the country is rapper Sarkodie, who has noted that he will stay indoors and make "zoom calls only."
Staying indoor when I touch down GH … Zoom calls only … #FuelPrices
