The Ghana Health Service (GHS) says the country continues to witness a surge in Covid-19 active cases.
As of July 29, the number of active cases reported stood at 5,928. Out of these cases, 86 are said to be severe while 17 are in critical condition.
In its latest update, the GHS revealed that new cases reported have shot up to 664, bringing the total number of confirmed cases to 104,994.

Despite these large recordings, a total of 98,229 persons have recovered, and have been discharged from various health facilities.
In the Greater Accra Region alone, 53,605 individuals have been discharged.
Unfortunately, the country's death toll is on the rise as one more life has been lost in the fight against the Covid-19 pandemic. Currently, the death toll stands at 837.
The Greater Accra Region still remains the largest Covid-19 hotspot in the country with 56,789 cases. Meanwhile, the Upper West has not recorded any active case.
