A passenger on a Ghana International Airlines (GIA) flight from London to Accra collapsed on arrival at the Kotoka International Airport on Saturday.
Emmanuel Kwame Adjei, 58, a Ghanaian based in the UK, was subsequently rushed to the Airport Clinic where the medical officer at the clinic detected that his pulse had ceased.
The Airport District Crime Officer, Deputy Superintendent of Police (DSP) William Sedoame, told the Times yesterday, that Mr. Adjei was on a London - Accra aircraft which touched down at the Kotoka Airport at about 6:32 pm and while attempting to enter one of the tarmac buses, he collapsed.
DSP Sedoame said the body had since been deposited at the Police Hospital mortuary for autopsy adding that the police had obtained a coroner's report from the court to enable medical officers to perform autopsy on the body.
He said a relative of the deceased was assisting the police in their investigations.
When the Times tried to contact the Chief Executive of the airline for confirmation of the incident, the personal assistant said the Chief Executive, Gifty Annan Myers, would not comment.
