Black Stars defender, Gideon Mensah, made his league debut for Ligue 1 newcomers, AJ Auxerre on Wednesday, August 1.
Mensah joined the club earlier this month, penning a three-year deal with the club after deciding to end his stay with Austrian side, Red Bull Salzburg.
Having missed pre-season with his new club, the 23-year-old had to wait a bit longer to become match fit and make the matchday squad.
He was named in the starting line-up for the game against Olympique Lyon in midweek.
Although the left-back ended up on the losing end, his debut was an encouraging performance as he ended the game as one of Auxerre's best players.
Mensah completed the most dribbles (4) in the match and also won 10 duels, the most in the fixture.
He lasted the entire duration of the game on Wednesday evening.
The Ghanaian defender will look to continue enjoying game time when his side take on Marseille in their next league game on Saturday.
